Looking For Love in All the Wrong Places

So, my sister and I are currently single baby boomers and have tried online dating with ghastly results. Just seems the older you get, the worse trying to date gets, especially online. But perhaps we should give it another try? But with so many bad experiences, it's hard to get back into it. Like the guy who dressed all in black looking like a cross between Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash who had just escaped from a mental facility. His hair was dyed jet black, and his skin was a ghostly white. He told me his wife had committed suicide and he had several issues with his mother and sister for years. By the end of the night, I ended up recommending therapy to him. Needless to say, I ran like hell from the bar when the meet ended. Then there was the guy who said he only smoked socially in his profile. I arrived first and ordered a drink. He walked into the bar smoking, smoked throughout dinner, lighting his cigarettes off the last cigarette he was smoking. I had said I preferred a n

About Us

We are two single sisters born during the baby boom years, and one of our all-time favorite movies is Baby Boom starring Diane Keaton. Keaton plays a character that has a gratifying career as an advertising executive in a predominantly male profession. And suddenly she inherits a baby girl from a long lost relative in Britan. After contemplating adoption, she moves out of the city to Connecticut to raise
her new daughter. After many mishaps with the house and expense of fixing it up, she eventually settles into country life and meets a sexy country vet played by Sam Shepard.

My sister and I have both been executives in Manhattan and often dreamed of living in the countryside. So, trade the baby with four rescue pets who need a lot of love and attention, my sister and I are living in her country home in Connecticut.

My sister Julia Nelson is a chief financial officer for a university and has worked for several large non-profits including the SPCA, Planned Parenthood and The Shoah Foundation. I, Barbara L. Nelson, am a writer, blogger and have been a public relations and marketing executive for two international firms. Being at the tail end of our working careers, we both longed for a quieter life in the country. So, in 2017, my sister bought a home in Haddam, Connecticut. And after being away from city life for several years, I moved back to the Northeast and we now share our Connecticut home with two dogs and two cats.

We are also minus the love interest of the country vet played by Sam Shepard, but hey we haven't even been here a year!

The Nelson clan including a brother William Nelson grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and in Wisconsin. We all went our separate ways after high school and now are all living in Connecticut.
